As a mandate, MBI extends it's work to country's with evident burden bothering twins and multiples. One of whis is Nigeria, West Africa. MBI in Nigeria is fully accredited by the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs & Development, National Council of Child Rights Advocates of Nigeria, the Presidency – National Planning Commission (NPC/ NGO-IC/ SEC.282), and the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC/IT/No.24337).
We listen, we support, and we take action for the worlds vulnerable multiple birth families. MBI is the first and currently the only charity in Nigeria registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) with the specific purpose of catering for indigent multiple birth families.
OBJECTIVES
Some of our key objectives include:
v Working to improve the support networks and services available to vulnerable multiple birth children and their families nationwide.
v Recruiting and engaging professionals (medical practitioners, prenatal instructors, bereavement counselors and educators) to support vulnerable multiple birth families in order to provide the best and up-to-date care.
v Enlightening the public through local and national media outlets on multiple birth issues to ensure that the interest and concerns of multiple birth families are accurately disseminated.
v Providing financial, material, moral & every needed support to all (directly/indirectly) affected by multiple births
v Working with government agencies to enhance services, supports, and opportunities for helpless multiple births and their families.
v Synergise with other NGO’s for enhanced service delivery.

MOTIVATION
The idea of multiple birth initiative is intended to provide succor to the common cases of abandonment of multiples due to abject poverty, high mortality rate among multiple birth, shameful practice of begging among families of multiple birth, etc
MEMBERSHIP
Membership of the organization is made up of the founding members of the incorporated trustees and such other persons as are admitted by the said members by a resolution of two thirds majority of its members eligible to vote.
Membership is open to persons of like minds but must be of credible character and of charitable disposition.
